DISTRIBUTION
Distributed in the North-east Atlantic from the Barents Sea and Iceland southwards to North-west Africa, including off-lying islands.
ECOLOGY
Benthopelagic species found in the range depth of 200-1700 m. Uses water columns to ascend from the depths at night to feed on cephalopods, crustaceans and fish.
FISHERIES
Mainly landed in mixed-trawl and longline fisheries.
