DISTRIBUTION
Distributed along the North-east Atlantic, from southwest of the Barents Sea to the South English Channel. Also present around Iceland and the Faeroe Islands.
ECOLOGY
Benthopelagic to pelagic species found on muddy bottoms, mainly at depths between 50 to 200 m. Its diet usually consists of crustaceans and small fish.
FISHERIES
Landed using small-meshed trawlers and to a lesser extent using seines.
